Seven

Seven years ago today, she said, "I do."   Her dad, my dad, and Tony Scott performed the wedding in Toledo, OH.  On that day, we began a great journey full of the unexpected.

My greatest privilege in life is being Kelly’s husband.  She’s beautiful, intelligent, sarcastic, organized, strong, maternal, secure, godly, productive, and flirtatious.  She knows how to treat me and bring out the best in me.  At times, when I’ve been a wreck, she’s reminded me who I am.  When I’m on top of the world, she is there with me.

When I push the limits and take risks, she is willing to go way outside of her comfort zone.  When I was pressed, she stood by me.  When I created problems and was under the gun, she stood by me and privately shared her perspective.

She loves to hold my hand and go on dates.  She keeps our home and lives in order.  She is playful and serious.  She teaches our children well.  She loves the girls passionately.  She is "smokin’ hot."  I still get butterflies from time to time when I see her walk in a room.

Today, I celebrate the fact that the most gorgeous woman on the planet is my wife.  I thank the Lord for such a godly wife.

    Travis and Kelly,

Congratulations on your 7th! Though we havn’t seen you in as many years, we feel we know you a little through these wonderful blogs. Stephanie and I hit 8 this past May. Wonderful isn’t it, watching our families grow?

That is really a great thing about the blogosphere. Congrats to you and Stephanie on 8 years as well. What’s really wild is that it seems like yesterday we were all running around on campus being kids.

Keep those dates up until she starts suggesting that your Friday night date movie is Burning Bed or something about avenging wives!

    Happy Anniversary!

I was just thinking of you today, decided if I come to minister’s meeting I’ll vote for you on the state council!

    Neil,

Thanks for the congrats and the dating tips. I’ve survived the rounds of abuse over the toilet seat and should be good for at least a few more years before crossing that bridge.

To the Church stuff: I’d be shocked if I was elected to the State Council though I appreciate your vote. It means a lot to have someone like you voting for someone like me. I’ve been pretty vocal about how we are spending the Evangelism and Home Missions Budget on everything but evangelism and home missions. So, there are a few people that have not been super happy with me.

Hopefully, we check ourselves and the people that do go on the council will address that issue as well as ensuring that the selling of defunct church properties goes ONLY to new church plants.
