We finish up the Clash Series next Sunday and go into Church 2.0, a short message series on connectedness and community. I am going to target the majority of my posts over the next week or so during the run-up to that series to sharing various values, side effects, and hopes of community in bite size snippets.
I invite you to join the discussion in these upcoming threads and to share your story on the Church 2.0 blog (www.shareyourstory.net). Some in our church community like Mayra, Ela, and Dave have already shared some really personally stories of transformation. I’ve received a few emails from people asking me to post their stories as well. All of the stories have been very personal, transparent, and honest. They are also inspiring. Share your story as well and take the first step in enjoying the community of Church 2.0.

It is not an easy task to put yourself out there for everyone to see the human side of you. Not only the hardships we have had to face to get to this point, but hoping that our story will help someone else along the way, this is what I pray for.
My dearest Ela, It is not only the hardships that are difficult but the MISTAKES. Even so called good people make bad decisions not realizing the lasting consequences and how it can effect the next generation. Anyway I will share what THE LORD leads me to share about my journey back the THE LORD and to Life-pointe. If you love HIM He does not let you go, He will do whatever it takes. I just pray more of our family will share.
Travis, now you have definitely hit one of my “hot buttons”–Community.
Everybody talks about it–and everyone seems to want it—but no one knows where to start, how to start, or what it should look like.
The best example I can find of community would be in Acts 4:28-34. Two words are amazing in verse 33: “great grace”. That is the only place in the Scriptures those two words are found together. The word “megali” should always be translated “great”–not “much”. This word “great” not only speaks of the quantity of the “grace”, but the quality of grace as well. This word “great” also speaks of the quality of the community receiving, and bestowing that same “grace” among those who believe.
I could write much, much more.
Guys, that’s great stuff. Phil, I know community is a topic that is always on your mind. Living it is not easy. But, it is good. Thanks all for sharing.
