- The stock market is jittery, gas prices are up, and housing is down.
- But, I’m bullish on the future.
- As of last night (only 2 days of pre-registration under our belt), over 500 had pre-registered for the egg hunt.
- This Sunday we’ll be enjoyable closing out Fully Engaged. I haven’t spoken in 3 weeks…ready to get back into the swing of things.
- Then, we hit Simply Jesus for 6 weeks of straight talk about the revolutionary Christ.
- I’ve gotten into more trouble this week than in a long time. There aren’t many people who know the extent of it. One thing is certain, I’m living my grandpa’s old adage, “You don’t get omelettes if you don’t crack some eggs.”
- I’ve decided that I don’t have to be nice to bullies. I might have to get the crap beat out of me standing up to them…just don’t care. Bruises heal.
- I’m bullish on Atlanta Bread Co. I’m a bear on Starbucks…not providing WiFi is lame and very 2006. Get with it, Oh patron St. of Coffee!
- Our new website might be rolled out in time for Easter…looking forward to that…love the feel. In the meantime, we continue to rock a jacked up, duct taped website designed using Front Page. But, hey! It’s getting the job done.

Trav,
Sounds like you missed this story a couple weeks ago:
http://gizmodo.com/354961/att-bringing-free-wi+fi-to-starbucks-finally
http://www.starbucks.com/aboutus/pressdesc.asp?id=827
Story in short form: T-Mo got dropped by SBUX and they picked up ATT. ATT and SBUX will be teaming up to give free Wi-Fi to anyone who has a SBUX card.
From my comments about this on Actscelerate.com:
That may not seem like a lot, but if you give everyone free WiFi all day every day, how difficult will it be to find a seat or even order a drink in there? Their real estate is just too small to accommodate everyone with laptops.
If you notice, although they don’t enforce it, even Panera asks that you keep it to a half hour time limit.
The difference is, Panera has more real estate and wider margins. They can afford to not enforce it.
PS – I recently re-discovered Atlanta Bread Company. I am diggin’ their gumbo and chicken salad.

PPS – I seemed to leave out the part where the SBUX/ATT relationship will provide 2 hours per day of free Wi-Fi access.
And in a final post post postscript, I hope html is enabled on your comments section.

I had my teeth cleaned this afternoon by my dental hygienist at my longtime dentist’s office. She was telling me the story of how her young niece (in a different city) was being trained by her dad on how to successfully compete in their local Easter Egg hunt. That opened up a conversation by me about how I will be helping to stuff about 20,000 Easter Eggs tomorrow morning at my church because we will be taking over Harris Field next Good Friday night. My dentist’s secretary then presented me with the ‘Easter In Homestead’ card that she received in the mail earlier this week. I told her that was my church. We then talked about my church for the next 10 minutes. They asked me a lot of questions about us such as ‘Are our services in English’, and ‘Are we non-denominational’. My heart went all out for my church, as I passionately bragged on all of us. It was intense on how I was going on and on about how much I love my church. Long story short (maybe it’s too late for that) both of them have actually been looking for a church to attend here in Homestead. I invited both of them to the movie theatre on Sunday morning, as well as our ‘Moonlight Easter Egg Hunt’ at Harris Field. I hope to see both of them real soon. If I don’t then I know where both of them work !

[...] Travis is very disappointed with The Atlanta Bread Company for shutting-down his WiFi. If you’re looking for him on Monday then he may just be in the next town over – at the Starbucks in Florida City – where WiFi still lives. [...]

Any insight into why so many Atlanta Bread Company locations are closing? The one right up road from where I work in Maryland closed last week — boarded up with the sign removed. When I tried to research why, I found mention of several other locations in Tennesee and New York closing too. Not sure it’s a company to be bullish on if they are closing what seemed to be busy, profitable locations. At least the one near my office was always busy.

Kellie,
Do you work for Starbucks? You’re a spy for Mr. Schultz aren’t you?
