I didn’t comment on the Cold Play Easter because I thought it would go without saying…but Pink Floyd cmon man does this really lift up the name of Jesus? I admit not every song I listen to is a Jesus centered masterpiece, but posting an openly secular group on a supposed Christian website is over the top!

This isn’t a Christian website. I’ve never actually been on one of those. I’ve mostly just been on electronic vehicles stuffed with content uploaded by individuals, some of which happen to be Christians, such as this one.
This is just a blog where a Dad, husband, sports connoisseur, culture buff, and Christian writes his thoughts and people participate in community together. An occasional grump straggles in to find fault and point out his own superiority.
Oh how right you are! What was I thinking…that this was actually a Christian website in association with a Christian church and it’s memebers. My mistake….sorry man really…when I saw all that stuff written about God I just thought wow these people are a community of people wanting to talk about God. So I guess we are open to talk about whatever we want to then let’s see…why don’t you have a section on why schools are being downsized however our population is growing or maybe why our elections are basically done because all of the candidates are all the same. Maybe how Nevada is under a quake warning, VA just had 3 tornadoes, and we might be getting an hurricane this year due to the activity already developing in the Atlantic. Nah that stuff can wait Cold Play’s free concert is much more important you’re right silly me!
To the SO CALLED PHARISE, why don’t you find another log that is more your style and leave this one alone. If we the members don’t have any problems by what gets written here why should you?
Be a man/woman and tell us who you really are instead of hidding behind digs and malice. Thats all you are about. May Jesus bless you for your lack of guts and trouble making.

My dear Ela, ask yourself why does my post offend you? Why are you attemping to defend Travis or whoever? I’m sorry that I can’t agree with everything that everyone says on this post. I explained why I’m commenting on this post but Travis deleted it. If you had of read it and knew who I was you probably would have alot more questions that would never be answered. So what’s the point? If you think I’m all about digs and malice what am I to think of you by your last statement?

If you can upset Ela, you really need to take a look at what you’re doing. Ela is one of the sweetest, most caring, and most Jesus filled people you will meet. If you hurt her, you should really be ashamed.
Whoa Ela whoa! Don’t you find it ironic that a few weeks ago your church was put in a position where it couldn’t express itself, but yet you are trying to do the same to me. Interesting? Anyway I want you to focus on the picture that Travis posted of the Cold Play Poster. Look closely…what do you see? A topless woman holding up a foreign flag over what seem like to be the first American soldiers. In my assumption this is not only an unpatriotic depiction, but also a symbolic one. I won’t go any further because who knows what you will derive from it.
So basically Ela you have no problem with Travis posting topless woman postings and other irreverent materials such as http://www.alittleleaven.com/2007/11/jesus-is-my-hom.html his homeboy/homegirl shirts then fine don’t say anything. What’s next ? Will you be getting a tattoo of Lifepoint on your back? Not that Travis would go that far but 20 years ago Travis may have denounced this website. I’m sorry if I point out the compromise that I see not only here but everywhere even in my own life. Where’s the Line? I wonder if it even matters to some anymore. There things that happens in life that we can not do anything about but I find that I pick JESUS side and I look towards the CROSS to see the love that’s there. I don’t give my views in a distasful manner. I work for HIS love and only that.
If I have a problem with Pastor Travis I have enough guts to go to him directly sit down and discuss it one to one. I would never use this venue or anyones elses for such disscussions. I will pray for you to be forgiven but we will not forget.

Be proud of what you stand for eyes glaring and all. Violet HIll is a great tune! Cold play a great band, Atlanta bread has great salads, and Jesus would probably agree too…
Violet Hill doesn’t lift up the name of Jesus or do you need to reread the lyrics above. Jesus said no to bread on his first recorded temptation by the Devil in the wilderness. So no I don’t think Jesus would agree! Jesus spoke life to those dying in sin and they cruified Him…we probably would as well in these days!

There is no compromise here, “The So Called Pharisee.” I have known Travis for a long time, and he loves God, he loves people and he is devoted to the Great Commission. Maybe you have differing views on what anyone can post on their site, talk about, or even think about. However, how beneficial is it to call out other believers/ministers who have differing views from yourself? So, maybe an artist’s rendering of a topless-liberty portraying woman offends you. In light of this, why don’t you just block this site altogether?
On another note….while I wasn’t being sarcastic by any means in the paragraph above (and trying really hard not to be here either), I find your comment on the “foreign” flag (or the implication given) somewhat spiteful/disdainful of other countries and/or their flags. Christ was not American, neither did he wave the American flag. I’m pretty sure God loves the French, the Iraqi people, Osama Bin Laden, Fidel Castro, etc., etc. Maybe I read into your comment or maybe this is a topic for another blog; and for this, I apologize.

Nate you read way to much into my comment and didn’t read the sentence after the flag commentary. If you really think this is all so kosher why the fuss? The main question is will we be listening to this music in Heaven, I don’t think so! Would we turn it off if Jesus manifested himself in our presence you better bet your buttons! Would our Christian parents in their time have posted this cover on this website I seriously doubt it! I was interested in joining the church at one point but now I’m not so sure. I wanted to be in a place where I could engage in some serious Biblical dialogue.
I’m interested in Bible prophecy which I see being fulfilled as we get nearer to the time of the 2nd Return (not the Rapture). If you’re looking for that you’ll be in for a shock! Oh and the doctrine of giving 10% where’s that in the New Testament, let me know when you find it. Jesus said to give to the poor not to an institution. I believe that churches can do alot of good so I’m not against giving but if you’re giving to outweigh the condemnation you’re wasting your time. Look for yourselves don’t take my word for it, it’s not my Word anyway it’s His. I’m sorry that I can’t apologize for standing up for truth, Jesus didn’t make alot of fan either just disciples.

Well I went and downloaded the tune after all the fuss. Wow, it’s great. BTW, Coldplay reminds me a little of the tones, chords, and feel of their British predecessors Pink Floyd.
As for Pharisee, we could all stand to learn from Matthew 5. The bible is a two edged sword. It cuts both ways brother. Be careful.
If Jesus returned here to earth as man again, Pharisee you’d probably be one of the many that would crucify him again. Jesus was the ultimate artist. I don’t think anyone of us know what influenced Chris Martin to write this song…How do we know he is not a born again believer and follower of Jesus. Maybe you know him personally. When you go to the Doctor do you request a “Christian Doctor”, or when in need of Law enforcement you request a “christian Officer”. You represent the one thing Jesus came here in the first place to erase..of all of these Love is the greatest commandment…Don’t see nor feel love in your words

I could be mistaken, but I thought you had listened to the podcast…if so, you would know what is being taught in “this church”. If you’re not sure, then how can you pass judgment, other than what you THINK you know.
Thankfully, congregants at LPC are encouraged (to the point that we give away Bibles to anyone who wants/needs one) to decide for themselves based on the Word.
