Life Pointe Church Christmas Eve Service

Both of our Life Pointe Church campuses (Homestead and Plantation Key) are coming together on Christmas Eve from 6-7 PM for a candlelight service, Christmas music, and a retelling of the greatest story- the birth of Jesus.  Spread the word.  But, don’t be late, we’re combining three services and two campuses into one location.  So, seating will be in limited supply.

On what is considered by many Christians as the most special Holy Day, we have an opportunity to refocus on the true meaning of Christmas together with our families and our extended church family…see you there.

The Discipleship Posture of Life Pointe Church

Get in my head for a minute and see the big picture of the discipleship posture at Life Pointe Church. What does it look like?

  • Relational Discipleship- I can’t make relationships happen. I won’t promise intimicy or even friendships.  That’s up to you.  But, I can facilitate environments where people get to know one another, pray with one another, and have Biblical discussions.  These environments are called Life Groups.  They last 13-14 weeks at a time, organized into 3 semesters each year: Spring, Summer, and Fall.  In fact, our next Life Group registration campaign will begin the first of January.
  • Activated Discipleship- Most of the best lessons in life are “caught not taught.”  Also, a lot of teaching paradigms focus on sharing head knowledge.  I believe people learn and activate their faith best when they experience the knowledge of Christ they already possess by serving.  As a result, we speed people to service.  I want everyone to be in a regular area of ministry.  We also activate our life groups 3 times per year in some type of ministry event- usually a ministry of the group’s choosing.  Faith without works is dead (James 2:20).
  • Observed Discipleship- Our ministry leaders and life group leaders are constantly on the look out for people who demonstrate high levels of commitment and developing prficiency in their area of service.  We are always on the lookout for people who are making good use of their giftings.  As we observe people with potential to lead at a higher level, we work at advancing them into greater areas of ministry responsiblity.
  • Holistic Discipleship- It is not good enough to develop or be discipled in isolated areas.  Certainly, we grow in different areas at different paces.  But, God wants to grow/develop our entire person.  It is the leadership posture of our team to work at developing whole followers of Christ.  I believe that means that we will be growing in Scripture reading, ministry, regular fellowship with one another, generosity and faithful stewardship of God’s resources, prayer, personal holiness, and multiplication of a devoted forllowership of Jesus into others lives.  So, we work strategically and systematically to advance people in a trajectory that is closer and closer to Jesus.
  • Extravagant Pursuit of Jesus- Because people are in different stages of their spiritual curiosity and growth, it is unrealistic to believe that everyone at Life Pointe will be laying everything on the line for Jesus all the time.  However, I believe the end game for a follower of Jesus is to give extravagantly from every area of their life.  In doing so, I believe God will be extravagant with us as He generously refills us with His grace and power.  I want to facilitate an environment where people are inspired to grow beyond the capacity of our church “structure” or “system” to take them.  I believe that a posture of growth will inspire people to seek God at such a pace that they crave more and deeper intimacy with God…a desire that will drive them to secret places, ridiculous devotion, and a generous and extravagant life.

Life Pointe Church is a place where people can grow.  But, we’ll not do it for you.  We’ll facilitate growth opportunities.  But, it will require a passion and a commitment on your part to find God’s growth trajectory for your life.
